Mandukhai Khatun, also known as Mandukhai Sechen Khatun, (c. 1449 – 1510) was the Khatun of the Northern Yuan dynasty based in Mongolia. With her second husband Batmunkh Dayan Khan, she helped reunite the warring Mongols. Mandukhai was the only daughter of Chororsbasi-Temur, chingsang (grand councillor) of the Ongud Mongols in eastern Mongolia. Her family were aristocrats. At the age of sixteen, Mandukhai was married to Manduul Khan, who ruled the Mongol Empire from 1473–1479.

A blog dedicated to promoting Mongolia and its culture in general. When visiting UB, the Mongolian National Song and Dance Academic Ensemble's show is a must see. It offers a great overview of the Mongolian songs and dances. I remember seeing their show a couple of years ago, the khoomii singer was throat singing O Sole mio. I guess, foreign tourists find it quite entertaining, since it's a very well-known song.
