The Zoobombs' "biography" on the sleeve of Welcome Back, Zoobombs describes the band's music as "amazing, real rock. Vague as that may be, it's pretty much true: this Japanese quartet combines noisy garage guitars, hard-driving organs, and blues/rock staples with the sort of recklessness one might expect from the Boredoms. The difference is that while the Boredoms concentrate on deconstructing music into ridiculousness, Zoobombs plow through intense rock songs with a serious Bo Diddley influence.

The Zoobombs may change all that. Suffice it to say that the Zoobombs rock, absolutely. Welcome Back is a blow to the solar plexus, a frantic and wild disc that careens across the indie nation's musical map, occasionally alighting on Jon Spencer-ish blues explosions, Beck-like grooves, and Sonic Youth-ster soundscapes. Despite these disparate points of reference, the Zoobombs create a sound wholly theirs-and wholly kick-ass. and "Let It Bomb" as quickly as possible. Zoobombs rock harder and with more energy than anyone else in recent memory. A combination of blues, punk, funk, rock, noise, and everything in between - "Welcome Back Zoobombs" scores a perfect 10 in every category. Above all - this music is fun.

The Zoobombs were awarded the second best performance of the Canadian Music Week Festival, and The Toronto Sun's Best Club Shows of 2005. For the celebration of 15 years as a band, they created their own label, Donuts Worm and shifted their focus to North America.
