One of the most thought-provoking political albums I've heard - the power mechanisms being critiqued are always just out of view, implied through seemingly overheard conversations and oppressive, claustrophobic electronics. A direct line could be drawn from punk to this via Swans' Soundtracks For The Blind, except here the anger of punk is completely dissolved into apathy and powerlessness. This is the perfect soundtrack to the modern political landscape.

The Eternal is the fifteenth and final studio album by American alternative rock band Sonic Youth, released on June 9, 2009 by Matador Records, their first on that label. It was their first studio album in three years (since Rather Ripped), making it the band's longest delay between studio albums. The album peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 and was the band's highest charting album of their career in the United States and highest charting album since Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star (1994).

Eternal Tapestry started in the fall of 2005, conceived after original members Nick Bindeman and Dewey Mahood discovered their mutual love of Sonny Sharrock and Neu! It was these two vastly different artists who helped the band's sound take shape, free improvised guitar with structured rhythms and lots of layered. Найдено 43 песни, продолжительность: 07:41:41.

In recent years Gnod have found a home with Bristol based Rocket Recordings and their growing roster of psychedelically and experimentally inclined fellow travellers, releasing among other material the latter-day space rock odyssey Drop Out with White Hills back in 2009 and the meaty, percussive Chaudelande 1 and 2 in 2011/12 (and collectively the following year). MR: I think the concept and the music sums up what Gnod is, and it reflects the way we work. The recording process was, let’s say, different to other albums like Chaudelande for obvious reasons but not so dissimilar to other albums like InGnodWeTrust. It was great to have Sam with us for a different approach and the means to record and mix it under the same roof.

The Mirror (Raikes Parade Remix). It’s a fool who predicts the next move of Gnod, seemingly less a musical collective and more a psychic force fuelled by maverick spirit and fearsome willpower. Their mind-frying 2015 triple-album ‘Infinity Machines’ stood proud as a towering work of experimental expansion, acidic invective and nihilistic abrasion. Yet as an outfit whose restlessly uncompromising nature is matched only by their unflinching anti-establishment drive, Gnod set about creating a diametrically opposed aesthetic.

The Gnod track was sort of disappointing, just some simple sax drone. Eternal Tapestry track is okay, but not very good sound quality. I hope the rest in the series will be better...
