Angst is the seventeenth album by Klaus Schulze. It was originally released in 1984, and in 2005 was the fourteenth Schulze album reissued by Revisited Records. It is the soundtrack for the 1983 Austrian film of the same name. Freeze" featured in the 1986 film Manhunter. All tracks composed by Klaus Schulze. Angst at the official site of Klaus Schulze.

In 1971 Schulze started a solo career as an electronic musician and released a couple of heavily experimental albums, "Irrlicht" and "Cyborg".

Klaus Schulze (born 4 August 1947) is a German electronic music pioneer, composer and musician. He also used the alias Richard Wahnfried. He was briefly a member of the bands Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel, and The Cosmic Jokers before launching a solo career consisting of more than 60 albums released across five decades.

Klaus Schulze called upon his many influences to build this project. The primary style is Berlin school, but Schulze uses his symphonic synths, his classical training, and his atmospheric sensitivity as well. For the most part, it does work as a stand-alone musical event, but loses some of its impact with the rhythmic pieces. They have drama and mystery and are, undoubtedly, important to the score - they just don't stand alone.

Re-Release of the impressing Klaus Schulze album Angst - soundtrack for the disturbing movie of the same title by Gerald Kragl. Originally released in 1984. The film was actually shot after Klaus Schulze's score. He got the script and on the basic of the script, he wrote the music. Director Kragl told him, You can write the music as you like - just stick to the script! I will cut the film to the music, not adapting the music to the film. Normally, the music takes its cue from the film but in this case it was the other way around.

If you like the sequenced KS' music from the early eighties, specially Audentity,go for this one because the bonus track is KS at his best.If included on the excellent Audentity it would have been the perfect release for that KS musical period. It's very strange that this track was unreleased for so many years. No doubt, one of the best bonus tracks on the SPV series.
