The Icicle Works is the eponymous debut album by The Icicle Works. The album was released in 1984 and charted at number 24 in the UK and number 40 in the US. The original 1984 issue features different track listings and cover artwork in the UK, in the USA, and in Canada. Disc 1 consists of the original album in its entirety, in the UK configuration

As early as the Icicle Works' second album, it became obvious that singer/songwriter Ian McNabb had little interest in further pursuing his career as a new wave tunesmith in the manner of his only . hit, "Love Is a Wonderful Colour. Still, stylistic nods to Neil Young, Van Morrison, and Motown on post-1984 recordings could have hardly prepared the causal Icicle Works fan for the all-over-the-map musical journey that represented the original lineup's fourth and final album, Blind.

Blind is the fourth album by The Icicle Works Blind. Studio album by The Icicle Works.

Blind (Full version) Lyrics. CHORUS Am I so blind I cannot see? Am I so blind I cannot see? Am I so blind I cannot see? Am I so blind I cannot see? There's a dead girl by the roadside There's a black man on the ground Tarred and feathered by the wayside Words of protest just rebound. There's a dealer on the corner There's a junkie on the street There's an actor in the White House The high rise towers sink like vultures waiting.

What on EARTH happened to the mastering on this Icicle Works reissue?? Along with 'If You Want To Defeat Your Enemy' and 'The Small Price Of A Bicycle' these dull, muffled remasters have absolutely ruined the listening experience. It's a crying shame as the packages and bonus tracks are a must-have for fans, however this is literally the worst mastering I have ever heard on any CD release. Go for the '5 Albums' box set on Beggars Banquet instead which sounds amazing, and has a good number of bonus tracks as well.

As soon as I saw your comment on the main reviews page, I thought to myself (without actually knowing) "sounds like it was probably a Cherry Red reissue." I've sworn off Cherry Red reissues for good, I recommend that anyone who cares about quality sound do the same. They reissue a lot of desirable and hard to find titles...often with subpar sound.
