Voices is the fourth studio album by Murray Head. It was released in 1981. Many musicians from Fairport Convention are featured here, Richard Thompson, Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg and Dave Mattacks. Recorded and released in 1981, Voices predates Murray Head's commercial breakthrough, "One Night in Bangkok. This is a very English album focused on gentle, intelligent acoustic pop songs. No wonder it went by unnoticed at a time when punk rock and new wave monopolized the attention of the media. Members of Fairport Convention and Caravan accompany the singer, along with longtime collaborator Alun Davies, pop producer Rupert Hine, and guitar hero Jeff Beck.

He has been involved in several projects since the 1960s and continues to record music, perform concerts and make appearances on television either as himself or as a character actor. Voices is the fourth studio album by Murray Head. Murray Head was educated at the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in South Kensington, London and Hampton School in Hampton, London and he attended Chiswick Polytechnic in the early 1960s. Head began writing songs as a child, and by the mid-1960s he had a London-based recording contract, with the Trinidad Singers, the song Superstar peaked at N. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1971.
