by Anne-Sophie Mutter and Berliner Philharmoniker and Herbert von Karajan. Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto In E Minor, O. 4, MWV O14 - 3. Allegro non troppo - Allegro molto vivace by Anne-Sophie Mutter and Berliner Philharmoniker and Herbert von Karajan. In addition we have a superb, fiery and lyrical Violin Concerto by the youthful Anne Sophie Mutter, with Karajan playing a suitably discreet role to let his protégée shine, a sensitive and refined performance of the Hebrides Overture, a typically civilised and responsive Octet from the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble and four little "Lieder ohne Worte" bon-bons.

Herbert von Karajan (German: (listen); born Heribert Ritter von Karajan; 5 April 1908 – 16 July 1989) was an Austrian conductor. He was principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic for 35 years. Generally regarded as one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century, he was a dominant figure in European classical music from the mid-1950s until his death. Part of the reason for this was the large number of recordings he made and their prominence during his lifetime
