Frank Sinatra was arguably the most important musical figure of the 20th century, his only real rivals for the title being Elvis Presley and the Beatles. In a professional career lasting 60 years, he demonstrated a remarkable ability to maintain his appeal and pursue his musical goals despite countervailing trends. album of songs Sinatra had sung with the Tommy Dorsey band. Remarkably, they all reached the Top Ten. Meanwhile, Reprise's first single, "The Second Time Around," a song written by Cahn and Van Heusen for Bing Crosby, won Sinatra the Grammy for Record of the Year. By 1962, the market was glutted.

Frank Sinatra recorded it for the first time in 1955 and turned it into a pop chart hit. Later he re-recorded "Love and Marriage" for his 1965 album A Man and His Music. The words and music were both written by Frank Loesser. It was sung by Marlon Brando in the 1955 film version of the musical and was picked as one of the top 100 movie songs of all time by the American Film Institute in 2004. Frank Sinatra is a legend, his music was the soundtrack to the second half of the 20th Century and his songs resonate as strongly today as they ever di. Frank’s was not the original version of the song; the black gospel group The Golden Gate Quartet were featured singing the song in the 1944 movie Follow The Boys. Abel Meeropol wrote the lyrics in 1943, under the name Lewis Allan (he also wrote the words to Billie Holiday’s ‘Strange Fruit’), while, in 1998, ‘The House I Live In’ was inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame
Folks, i'm suprised you missed a couple, Frank sings the title song, "Come Blow Your Horn", and, "The Tender Trap" and, a song I used to hear often, on, would you believe Capt. Kangaroo?, "High Hopes". I think the movie was called "Leaving Las Vegas". The one starring Nicholas Cage as a alcholic. There are a number of Frank's songs from "Only The Lonely", but they are sung by Sting. I think Sting is a great musician, but it would have been better if they used Mr. Sinatra's recordings instead.
