Lisa Nicole Lopes (May 27, 1971 – April 25, 2002), better known by her stage name Left Eye, was an American hip hop singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer. Lopes was best known as one-third of the R&B girl group TLC, alongside Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. Besides rapping and singing background vocals on TLC recordings, Lopes was one of the creative forces behind the group.

Less than a year later, TLC again hit with the epic and timeless "Waterfalls". Their second chart foray came after an absence of several years, when their 1999 album "Fanmail" hit it big again, containing the hits "No scrubs" and "Unpretty". After member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' untimely death in 2002, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins continued performing and released another album later that year, but things got quiet in the years that followed

TLC members Rozanda Chilli Thomas and Tionne T-Boz Watkins say there is a good reason why late group member Lisa Left Eye Lopes does not appear on the 20th anniversary remake of their signature song Waterfalls. They were denied the right to use Lopes’s vocals. We don’t own the master recording rights to Lisa’s raps on any of our music, and our requests to gain the rights so far have been denied, Chilli said in a statement released exclusively to Yahoo! Music. They are also planning to tour and release a new album. Waterfalls" spent seven weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart when it was released in 1995. Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes died in 2002 from neck and head injuries she suffered in a car accident in Honduras. TLC is one of the most successful musical trios of all time.

T-Boz & Chilli Make Cameos In Stooshe’s ‘Waterfalls’ Music Video. Written by Donovan on October 8, 2012. Stooshe’s cover is off their self-titled debut album. Both Love Me featuring Travie McCoy and Black Heart cracked the Top 10 in the UK and I full expect Waterfalls to do the same. The latter might even assist in them breaking the North American market. Just in case you were wondering, Stooshe is term the girls found on UrbanDictionary. With out T-boz’s voic. eft Eye’s ra. nd chilli’s sweet voice this is complete crap! Jake Samson. Ug. hey have a lot of good songs.

TLC. Produced by Organized Noize. Waterfalls is a Grammy-nominated 1995 single by TLC from their second album CrazySexyCool and arguably the group’s signature song. The song was produced by Organized Noize and written by Marqueze Etheridge, TLC member Lisa Left Eye Lopes, and Organized Noize. Waterfalls was nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal at the 38th Annual Grammy Awards. Backing Vocals T-Boz, Lisa Left Eye Lopes, Chilli & 2 more. Horns Arranger Shock (NHP Sound). Mastering Engineer Herb Powers.

T-Boz and Chilli have always been vocal in honoring the late singer, so for them to replace Left Eye's verse, which honestly makes the song a classic, is puzzling and disheartening. Not having the opportunity to listen to new verses from Left Eye only make those she left behind sweeter with every listen. Some songs, like "Waterfalls," are best left untouched.

Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas spoke with HuffPost Live's Caitlyn Becker on Monday about the upcoming album and what fans can expect. According to Chilli, the idea for new music got serious after VH1 produced "CrazySexyCool," a film about TLC's career. Once the movie came out - our biopic - we had so many fans asking us to do more music," Chilli said. The new album will be the group's second without Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, who died in a car accident in 2002. The pair discussed their "new normal" as a duo after Left Eye's death. Lopes will forever be part of the group's music, T-Boz said, and that will continue with the potential upcoming records. Music video by TLC performing Waterfalls. C) 1994 LaFace Records LLC.
