Text below from AMFIBIA 06 cover/inlay:
I’ve heard it’s a combination of classics, brought into the 21st century?
“So-Nic” had been laying around for a while, actually since before the “As’besto” release on Sex Tags Mania. The first time we heard it was also the first time we heard the now entitled “Kan Jeg Slippe?” by Bjørn Torske, which was released in May this year on Sex Tags Mania. Since the “So-Nic” track with its “jumpy” sound and cheerfully naïve narrative sphere has such a particular... theme... it has been hard to place it in a context where it would not overshadow the other tracks. This is maybe the reason why it wasn’t released earlier. Now, three years after we first heard it, we decided to release it. From that decision forward, selecting the other tracks happened on its own. (For further information about the “So-Nic” track please contact N-4829-6349/N-9363-7642)
“Walk!” came along just after the AMFIBIA 06 release plan was set; or rather, “Walk!” was also a track that had been laying around for a while, but only since spring 2007, just before the “Can You Handle The Acid?” party at Atelier-am-Flutgraben in Berlin. This two minute and two second polyphonous - 808 - atari-sequenced wonder was found after stumbling around among the external links of elektro.fm - freecustomer.com - danielpflumm.com webpages, and got stuck in heavy rotation for almost a year. Their current archive, over three-hundred tracks, are all recorded as 80 minute sessions. An exception to this routine, the original recording of “Walk!” measures 34 minutes and has been massaged into 2:02 minutes. We never knew much about the artists, 100records, though massive amounts of information is available on 100records.de. That’s maybe Budde, Osti, and 100records’ “thing”, issuing releases on Elektro Music Department, On/Off Records, Acido Records as well as on their own “label” (distributed through Neuton and Kompakt), while at the same time, perhaps unintentionally, retaining a level of anonymity in the (East) Berlin scene.
“Ehh... Sexs T-ag-s...” contains the following: Egill Sæbjörnsson live intro at Wasta Party Amsterdam; a Sex Tags secret; Marcelo Umaña at RINFM broadcasted from Amsterdam; Skatebård at Skurkeklubben Bergen; Rakett at Curating Degree Zero Archive in Bergen; Franz Pomassl at Sex Tags Mania presents Skeleton event in Bergen; Tim ‘Love’ Lee at East Village Radio New York City; Harald Are Lund at HAL 9000 on NRK Radio Norway; bomb at Atelier; Skatebård at Kameloink Bergen; Andres Lõo at Fantasia - Radio Tallinn; Franz Pomassl at Semper Depot Wien; anonymous raver; and a closure by Harald Are Lund on the Norwegian state radio channel. Edited by Dj Sotofett.
“Seksi Tagit Salón Dübb” was delivered just at the right moment, during the hard winter months of northern Europe, and was recorded, remixed and re-produced under the desert summer sun in Santiago de Chile. Beginning as a commissioned interpretation and live session by Cristóbal Carvajal and Juan Guillermo Dumay of Panamericana and El Gran Chufle, it has been transformed from an abstract-but-rhytmical concept into a drum-machine-filter-dubbed track. “Seksi Tagit Salón Dübb” is an obscurity and a non-purist addition to the “N.O. Movement” project. To be continued...
