King, Buddy Holly, and Muddy Waters, Jimi performed in multiple bands across the United States before forming the Jimi Hendrix Experience and releasing Are You Experienced, one of the most popular rock albums of all time. MCA continued the series of definitive masters of the Jimi Hendrix catalogue in 2000, releasing the self-titled box set The Jimi Hendrix Experience, consisting of four discs. The material includes alternative recordings, live performances and some rarities. Although most of the material had been released in earlier compilations, some previously unreleased material (such as live versions of "Killing Floor" and "The Wind Cries Mary") was also included.
Jimi Hendrix's Stratocasters, Flying Vs, Marshall amps, and Fuzz pedals. All in one place, listed chronologically. As far as electric guitars, Jimi Hendrix is mostly known for playing Fender Stratocasters. A few worth mentioning here is certainly the early 1960s white Stratocaster – which was allegedly the only guitar Jimi had with him when he first came to England. But perhaps, the most notable of them all was the 1968 white Fender Stratocaster that Jimi played during the Woodstock festival on August 16, 1969

Jimi Hendrix – lead vocals, guitars. Mitch Mitchell – drums, backing vocals. Noel Redding – bass, backing vocals (1966–1969). BBC Sessions is an album of recordings by the rock group the Jimi Hendrix Experience, released on MCA Records on June 2, 1998. It contains all the surviving tracks from their various appearances on BBC radio programmes, such as Saturday Club and Top Gear, recorded in 1967. At a BBC radio session, a practice still alive in British radio today, a band is required to record material in a studio quickly with limited overdubbing, largely limited to and relying upon their live sound. Many groups as part of this tradition choose to record some songs that are not part of their main repertoire.
All in all, The Jimi Hendrix Experience is a fine addendum to the Hendrix legacy, but not the place to start; this is a set for someone who already has the studio albums and can't get enough of his genius. The disappointment a hardcore collector might feel at having heard most of this material already should be outweighed by the beautiful, warm sound achieved by Eddie Kramer and the general high quality of the package.

It is clear that a significant part of what made Hendrix unique is that he experimented a lot with his gear and its settings. He is usually associated with Marshall amps because he used them towards the end of his life.
