Hello, Dolly! (1964 Original Broadway Cast). Hello, Dolly! (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). Carol Channing's voice wavers unfavorably in this 30th anniversary production of the Jerry Herman smash hit that was wonderfully recorded on a best selling original cast album. This was her fourth time on the Broadway stage as Dolly (1964, 1977, 1985 and 1994), and being touted as her "farewell to Dolly" became a kind of a joke, even one she got a few laughs in on by insisting that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".
