Nome real: Reginald Leonard Smith. Perfil: Marty Wilde (born 15 April 1939, Blackheath, South London, England) is an English singer, songwriter and producer. During the late 1950's and early 1960's he had a string of top 10 hits in the UK, including 'Donna', 'A Teenager in Love', 'Sea of Love' and 'Rubber Ball'. Later on, as a songwriter and record producer, he was behind a string of 1980's hits for his daughter Kim Wilde.
Kim Wilde is the eponymous debut studio album by British singer Kim Wilde, released on June 29, 1981 via the RAK label. The songs on the album were all written by Kim's father, the successful 1950s rock and roll singer Marty Wilde, and her younger brother Ricky Wilde and most of the music was played by the then current line-up of the symphonic rock band The Enid. Production duties were fulfilled by Ricky Wilde. The cover portraits were taken by renowned British photographer Gered Mankowitz.

These 24 songs from Marty Wilde's prime years, 1957-1962, are about the best compilation of the British beat singer's work that we're ever likely to see. They also illustrate the delights and flaws of early English rock & roll. On the plus side, Wilde is a good singer - he has a strong voice, and an authentic sounding (which is to say, uninhibited) American delivery on numbers like his first hit, "Endless Sleep," which made the top five in England in 1958.
