lp ACHE - De Homine Urbano 1970 ORIG. As the album cover might go to imply, Ache's De Homine Urbano was intended as a ballet. With the advent of the first major rock opera the year before (The Who's Tommy) I suppose it wouldn't have been such a surprise for a rock musician to want to appropriate another classical format; of course, while the notion of the rock opera soon evolved into a codified genre of its own, a rock ballet still sounds like a novelty.

De Homine Urbano/Green Man. Import. Legendary Danish psychedelic killer. Their 1970 and 1971's two album on one CD. The first album, De Homine Urbano consists of two long tracks made for rock ballet, first mixture of ballet and rock music in the world. The second album, Green Man has shorter tracks, but still impressive. Their sound is like sometimes Pink Floyd, sometimes E,L & P with doom and heavy organ of Peter Mellin and psyche guitar of Finn Olafsson. This is unique and top quality progressive legacy on early 1970's.

The Danish symphonic prog rock band Ache released their debut album De Homine Urbano in 1970 and in 1971 their second album Green Man was released. This is a CD re-release with both albums for one albums price. There are no extra features but it is still a good initiative. De Homine Urbano consists of two long epic tracks while Green Man consist of shorter songs. De Homine Urbano is a very organ driven affair which reminds me of a lot of the early seventies prog rock bands from England. The album consist of two side long compositions where the first one De Homine Urbano is music for a modern ballet. The second one is almost in the same style. There are lots of sections in the songs so they never get boring. Vocals are used sparcely. The music on Green Man is organ driven like many other early seventies prog rock albums.

1970 De Homine Urbano Vinyl LP Philips 841 960 Ache was one of the first progressive rock bands to come from Denmark. De Homine Urbano was their debut, and probably their best release. The album consisted of just two side-long suites. The title-track was, according to the band themselves, the world’s first rock ballet. The swirling organ of Peter Mellin and the smooth, melodic tone of guitarist Finn Olafsson dominated the sound. 1970 De Homine Urbano Vinyl LP Philips 841 960 Ache was one of the first progressive rock bands to come from Denmark.
