Teardrops On Your Letter. B1. –Buddy Ace. Hold On (To This Old Fool).

Soul to Soul is the third studio album by American blues rock band Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble released on September 30, 1985 by Epic Records. Recording sessions took place between March and May 1985 at the Dallas Sound Lab in Dallas, Texas. Vaughan wrote four of Soul to Soul's ten tracks; two songs were released as singles.

An album is a collection of audio recordings issued as a collection on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium. Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78-rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl LP records played at 33 1⁄3 rpm. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though album sales in the 21st-century have mostly focused on CD and MP3 formats.

Texas Flood changed all that, climbing into the Top 40 and spending over half a year on the charts, which was practically unheard of for a blues recording. Recorded in 1973, 3 + 3 was a major turning point for the Isley Brothers. With this album, the Isleys moved their T-Neck label from Buddah to Epic/CBS (which became Epic/Sony in the early ’90s), and it was at Epic that they unveiled their new lineup. Lead singer Ronald Isley and his siblings O’Kelly and Rudolph remained, but the Isleys became a sextet instead of a trio when cousin Chris Jasper and younger brothers Ernie and Marvin were added. Upon its release in 2019, You’re the Man was billed as a lost album - an album intended to appear between Marvin Gaye’s 1971 masterwork What’s Going On and 1973’s Let’s Get It On. The story isn’t quite so simple.

Major Bill was more or less well known for his '50s RnR/'60s garage punk/teen pop productions but this is a great collection of fairly lo-fi soul, presumably mastered from rare 45s. The sound quality is a bit iffy should you be some sort of hi-fi nut but personally I like it a bit crispy and damaged.Tons of highlights - Billy Mills with the Curtis Mayfield-penned hit for Major Lance The Monkey Time and also Under The Pines - both very memorable songs and performances.Willie Hobbs' Action is a non-stop speeding rave-up too. I can't get it together to go through every track but special attention should be given to Ede Robin's desperately sad 'Dead'. Wow, they don't get much darker and deeper than this slice of suicidal self-pity. The crude production just adding another layer of pathos. She even describes the razor blade cutting through her wrist. I don't care who you are - black metal, doom, weeping country.... whatever.... nobody's made a darker record than this.... EVER.There's a few covers, some total unnknowns and even a hit, of sorts, The Sons of Moses' instrumental 'Soul Symphony' was a biggie on the northern soul circuit in the 70s.
