Man this is a good album and rather underappreciated to be honest as I hear no one speaking of it. I am sure this one got Pete Namlook's attention enough to have Namlook release Waiting for Snow on Fax!Anyway the rhythms are tight and mechanical but never overbearing and really dance like but more in the blood running thru the 90s veins of labels like R&S/Apollo Warp and stated Fax labels. There's a slight cinematic quality and the timbre's Mr. Benisch coalesces from his arsenal are warm and emotive. A fine release IF you can find it on cd. I found this years ago in Seattle at the Goodwill. A town where people love the more esoteric side of music(perhaps the colder weather!).

Several years before his cover of "Crockett's Theme" under his alias FPU would become a classic of the nu-electro movement, Peter Benisch's full length debut shows a totally different direction. An inventive, illuminating and cerebral album of icy, smooth slower-paced ambient techno that is very progressive with no retro references. Impeccable production and brilliant navigation of textures, beats and micro hooks. Most pieces are percussion-oriented, with lots of snaps, pops and bells drenched in reverb while gorgeous washes of synthesizers pulse underneath. There are some uplifting moments, but plenty of dark, eerie, cool feelings too. Wonderful for night walks in the city. Very soundtrack-like. Parts of it remind me of Higher Intelligence Agency's Freefloater. But unlike that group's album, which has received recognition, this gem is almost entirely forgotten. I haven't found anything else like it, not even the rest of Mr. Benisch's very small body of work. Highly recommended.
