The final album in Royal Trux's deal with Virgin Records, a record Virgin didn't put out, is the most openly celebratory yet perversely strange entry in the dirtbag-rock duo's canon.
Since this is Royal Trux, the result still is indebted to the Stones and astoundingly messy, but that's why Accelerator rocks like a demon, running over everything in sight.
Royal Trux is an American alternative rock band active from 1987 to 2001, and which reunited in 2015. It was founded by Neil Hagerty (vocals, guitar) and Jennifer Herrema (vocals). While still a teenager, Hagerty joined Washington DC garage punk band Pussy Galore, led by Jon Spencer, and subsequently relocated to New York. During his time in there, Hagerty convinced his bandmates to release a cassette-only remake of the entire Rolling Stones album Exile on Main Street.
Accelerator (Royal Trux album). Accelerator is the seventh studio album by the alternative rock band Royal Trux. It was released in 1998 on Drag City.

Reissue of the Alt-Rock duo's 1998 album. On Accelerator, Neil and Jennifer returned kicking with a rottingly fresh album of fuzzy, post-nineties, numb-rockin' blues for today's ever-growing, out-of-touch set. Skin-shred of the filler, raw-stripped, gut-ramming, and chorus wringing, abscessed modern bounce. Nine juicy, extensive tracks.
