Levon Vincent, DJ Jus Ed ‎– These Games EP. Genre: Electronic. Style: Dub Techno, Deep House. Better sounding that the original IMHO, probably helped by the fact that each song has their own side (previously released as a 4 track ep). Reply Notify me Helpful.

SYNC JAM !!! what a pity they didnt put that on the represses....
  • Inth
pressing sounds better then the original, which was released back in 2008. bass is a little bit more crispy and hi-hats and db are fixed. its always a pleasure to see a self respecting musician going back to fix and improve his own creations.
  • Vetibert
Better sounding that the original IMHO, probably helped by the fact that each song has their own side (previously released as a 4 track ep).

Slammin! Luv it

These Games.........TRUTH.

What does the pressing sound like in the quiet passages? I'm tempted to get this one despite my dislike of coloured vinyl.
  • Hystana
sounds ok
  • Charyoll
Dude, did you listen to those tracks? There are no "quiet" passages :DThere is a slight hiss at the beginning, but its barely noticeable because both tracks include distorted white-noise-like sounds. The overall sound quality is pretty decent tho, especially the bass drums are heavily kicking.
  • Tejar
I listened side by side with the original when I got in the post today, sounds remastered with more bass, bit less on the highs.
  • skyjettttt
Yeah I also hate colored vinyl : impossible to drop the needle at the right place. But you HAVE to get it right now it is after all a NS repress...
  • Rainbearer
It sounds bloody brilliant but by the time you have decided it may be g o n e .
  • Qutalan
Mines a bit scratchy at the start of Deeper but the pressing seems to be ok other than that.
  • Felolak
edit: Upon further inspection, crossovers on the particular PA system were definitely not right. Rinsed this elsewhere and it sounded great.

Levon has a tendency to veer on the side of dynamics over brickwalls and loudness. The problem isn't so much the track or mastering, but the fact that too much contemporary music is simply too loud and lacking in the dynamic department. However, NS-01 is a bit "lighter" than some of his others, but not lacking in my opinion. Turn up that low EQ knob :)
