Duran Duran is the debut studio album by English new wave band Duran Duran. It was released on 15 June 1981 by EMI. The album reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and remained in the UK top 100 for 118 weeks, achieving platinum status by December 1982. The initial US release was unsuccessful, though the album was reissued there in 1983 following the success of the band's second album, Rio, reached number 10 on the US Billboard 200, and spent 87 weeks on that chart.

The album peaked at number 16 on the UK Albums Chart and at number 12 on the US Billboard 200. Produced by the band with Nile Rodgers, the album showcased a new musical direction for the band, emphasizing bass and brass, as exemplified by the singles "Notorious" and "Skin Trade".
Astronaut (Duran Duran album). Astronaut is the 11th studio album by English pop rock band Duran Duran. It was released on 11 October 2004. This was Duran Duran's first studio album since Pop Trash (2000), and the first (and to date, last) full album since Seven and the Ragged Tiger (1983), to be recorded by the most famous five-member lineup of the band (the stand-alone 1985 single "A View to a Kill" was their last studio recording together).

Demos for the album were written and recorded at AIR Studios in late 1980, while one of Duran Duran's influences, the band Japan, was recording Gentlemen Take Polaroids just down the hall.

The band's first album, Duran Duran was released on the EMI label in 1981. The first single, "Planet Earth", reached the United Kingdom's top 20 at number 12. A follow-up, "Careless Memories", stalled at Number 37.
