Tool is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1990, the group's line-up includes drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Justin Chancellor has been the band's bassist since 1995, replacing their original bassist Paul D'Amour. Tool has won three Grammy Awards, performed worldwide tours, and produced albums topping the charts in several countries.

So, Tool were able to slip into the definition of alternative rock during the post-Nirvana era, landing a slot on the third Lollapalooza tour in 1993, which helped their first full-length debut album, Undertow, rocket to platinum status. By the time the band delivered its belated follow-up, Ænima, in 1996, alternative rock had lost its grip on the mainstream of America, and Tool's audience had shaped up as essentially metal-oriented, which meant that the group and the record didn't capture as big an audience as their first album, despite debuting at number two on the charts. Finally, May 2001 saw the release of Tool's third full-length release, Lateralus, which debuted at the number one position on the Billboard album chart and became the band's biggest hit. After the obligatory several-year sabbatical to pursue other projects, the group returned with another chart-topper, 10,000 Days, in 2006.

It includes a 56-page book of photos and stills from their music videos. The live track "You Lied" is a cover of a song by bass player Justin Chancellor's previous band Peach.

10,000 Days is the fourth studio album by American rock band Tool. The album was released by Tool Dissectional and Volcano Entertainment on April 28, 2006 in parts of Europe, April 29, 2006 in Australia, May 1, 2006 in the United Kingdom, and on May 2, 2006 in North America. Recording took place at O'Henry Sound Studios in Burbank, California, The Loft, and Grandmaster Studios (both in Hollywood, California)

Tool are one of the most successful progressive rock bands of the past twenty years. Nevertheless, the group remains active, despite a myriad of side projects, and a commercial force to be reckoned with; their influence limited only by the difficulty experienced by other bands who would try and and duplicate Tool’s unique sound. Simply put, Tool is one of those rare rock bands that truly exists outside the bounds of passing tastes and musical trends. Selected Discography: ‘Undertow’ (1993), ‘Ænima’ (1996), ‘Lateralus’ (2001).
