Self-taught on the guitar, Otis Whitman worked at a shipyard in Tampa while developing a musical career, eventually performing with a band known as the "Variety Rhythm Boys". Whitman's first big break came when agent Colonel Tom Parker heard him singing on the radio and offered to represent him. Signed with RCA Records, he was billed as the cowboy singer, "Slim Whitman" and released his first 45rpm single in 1948. Slim Whitman (January 20, 1924 in Tampa, Florida - June 19, 2013, Orange Park, Florida) is an American country music singer and songwriter.

Album The Man With the Singing Guitar, Volume 2. Indian Love Call Lyrics. Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo, Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo When I'm calling you Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo, Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo Will you answer too? Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo, Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo. That means I offer my life to you to be my own If you refuse me I will be blue, waiting all alone. But if when you hear my love call ringing clear Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo, Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo And I hear your answering echo so dear Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo, Oo-Oo-Oo-Oo Then I will know our love will become true You'll belong to me and I'll belong to you. Then I will know our love will become.

Yodelling country singer best known for Rose Marie and Indian Love Call. The singer Slim Whitman, who has died aged 90, was a noteworthy figure in country music, since, although he was hugely popular outside the US, for most of his career he was almost forgotten in his own country. In the 1970s, two decades after his American heyday, he still commanded enough of a following in the UK to be voted the No 1 international star in a music poll – four times

That same night, after Rose Marie has gone to her tent, she hums the song while beside the campfire and Sergeant Bruce quietly hums the response. In a dramatic moment later in the play, after Sergeant Bruce rides off on his horse to arrest Rose Marie's brother for murder, she sings "Indian Love Call" in an attempt to summon him back. In 1952, yodeling cowboy singer Slim Whitman released a version of "Indian Love Call" as his second single. The song peaked at number two on the country charts, crossing over into the pop music Top Ten, and made Whitman a star  . The song was part of an album of covers of pop music standards
