John Coltrane & Wilbur Hardin. A 70s collection of some of Coltrane's groundbreaking recordings for Savoy from the late 50s – recorded in the company of a super-hip sextet with Wilbur Harden on trumpet, and done in a way so that the tracks open up nice and long, in strong modal grooves that point the way towards Trane's. LP, Vinyl record album. One of the few non-Coltrane sessions by Wilbur Harden – a quartet date by the trumpeter, with Tommy Flanagan on piano, George Duvivier on bass, and GT Hogan on drums. As with other Harden albums of the time, there's some nicely exotic touches here! LP, Vinyl record album.

Countdown: The Savoy Sessions is a compilation album by jazz musicians John Coltrane and Wilbur Harden. It was issued on Savoy Records in 1978 as SJL 2203 and comprises all the pieces recorded on the March 13, 1958 session. Actually, the only unissued original track is "Count Down", the remainder being mere alternate takes of the pieces featured on Mainstream 1958: The East Coast Jazz Scene.

The sessions that produced this album were recorded in 1958 and have been well-documented on LPs Dial Africa, Gold Coast, and Tanganyika Strut, among others. When the LPs were issued, much was made of Coltrane's presence on them, as he was at the beginning of his second run with Miles Davis' group and the end of his tenure with Thelonious Monk.
