The Monteverdi Choir, ORR and John Eliot Gardiner conclude their celebration of Berlioz's music, marking the 150th anniversary of the composer's death with a performance of his first opera, Benvenuto Cellini.

Equale Brass Ensemble, John Eliot Gardiner & Monteverdi Orchestra, Monteverdi Orchestra, Генри Пёрселл - Purcell : Funeral Sentences for the death of Queen Mary II Z27 : VI "Thou knowest, Lord, the secrets of our Hearts" 02:25. English Baroque Soloists, Jennifer Smith, John Eliot Gardiner & Monteverdi Orchestra, Генри Пёрселл - Act 4 "Two daughters of this aged stream" 02:41. Album: Purcell : King Arthur, Music for Queen Mary, Hail! Bright Cecilia, Timon of Athens, Dioclesian, The Indian Queen & The Tempest. English Baroque Soloists, John Eliot Gardiner &.

John Eliot Gardiner and the English Baroque Soloists give a well-done, polished performance. Purcell's opera King Arthur is superbly brought to life by this excellent recording. The English Baroque Players (with period instruments) play beautifully and each of the vocal soloists is excellent. What struck me most, was the variety of dynamics, which along with the character of the music come across very well.
