Steppenwolf - Early Steppenwolf/For Ladies Only download mp3 album

Steppenwolf is a Canadian rock band who were prominent from 1968 to 1972. The group was formed in late 1967 in Los Angeles by lead singer John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn, and drummer Jerry Edmonton (all formerly in Jack London & the Sparrows from Oshawa, Ontario). Guitarist Michael Monarch and bass guitarist Rushton Moreve were recruited by notices placed in Los Angeles-area record and musical instrument stores.
DISC 1 - EARLY STEPPENWOLF (Recorded live at the Matrix, San Francisco, California, United States, 14/05/1967). 2. Howlin' for My Darlin'. 3. I'm Going Upstairs. 5. Tighten Up Your Wig. 6. The Pusher. Disc 2 - for ladies only. Shackles and Chains. The Night Time's for You. Jaded Strumpet.
For Ladies Only: I already had the earlier, somewhat muddled-sounding MCA release but – WO. GO did an exceptional job of remastering this. This double-album is worth it, just for "Early Steppenwolf". For Ladies Only", being their last studio album (1971), before an onslaught of 'greatest hits' & 're-packaged' 'Best of' albums, is a good album in itself. The best songs on the album are: "The Night Time Is For You", "Jaded Strumpet", "Black Pit"(good), & "Ride With Me"(good).
Time Out" (Kay, Ritchotte, Wilk) – 3:46. Do or Die" (Kay, Wilk) – 4:06. Rise and Shine" (Kay, Wilk) – 4:05. The Wall" (Kay, Ritchotte, Wilk) – 6:21.
The second disc is For Ladies Only, which is negligible at best. But it's disc one that counts, with the reemergence of Early Steppenwolf, which was recorded in 1967 at San Francisco's Matrix. The band was actually called the Sparrow when this set was recorded, but the Steppenwolf sound was already in place. Before "Born to Be Wild" and the other hits, this band was a wild, woolly monster, and this set proves that in spades
Part of a 8-album Steppenwolf mini LP SHM-CD reissue series featuring albums "Steppenwolf," "The Second," "At Your Birthday Party," "Early Steppenwolf," "Monster," "Live Steppenwolf," "Steppenwolf 7," and "For Ladies Only. Becomes cardboard sleeve reissue for the first time.
1970 - Steppenwolf 7. 1971 - For Ladies Only. 1975 - Hour Of The Wolf.
Steppenwolf is the first studio album by American rock band Steppenwolf, released in January 1968 on ABC Dunhill Records. The album was a successful debut for the band, featuring the songs "Born to Be Wild", as well as "The Pusher", both of which were used in the 1969 film Easy Rider. Berry Rides Again" is a tribute to guitarist Chuck Berry. The spelling of track on the vinyl is "Hootchie Kootchie Man". It is the only album by the band to have been released in both stereo and mono configurations. Although the latter is simply a 'fold down' of the stereo mix it is sought after as a collector's item. The earliest 1968 versions of the album did not have the black box with the wording: "Contains The Hit "Born To Be Wild".
