Joseph Haydn - Concerto En Re Majeur Pour Piano Et Orchestre, Op. 21 (Vivace - Un Poco Adagio - Rondo All'Ungharese - Allegro Assai). B1. –Robert Schumann. Directed By – Klaus Bernbacher (tracks: A). Orchestra – Studio Orchester des J. M. de Hannovre (tracks: A). Piano – Jean-Bernard Pommier (tracks: A), Rosana-Maria Martins (tracks: B1-B2).

Exclusively for Prime members. No decent recording of Michelangeli in this work in the conventional (what am I saying: "conventional"? It is ravishing!) mode exists. His 1942 recording from La Scala belongs to a different sound world and is even somewhat tame. The recording from November 1948 in New York (his American debut and only visit I believe) with Mitropoulos and the NY Phil is far better and is raw and exciting - all heart and passion, the melodic line to the fore, but with the flash keyboard technique, speed and transparency of a true maestro.

Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune (L. 86), known in English as Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, is a symphonic poem for orchestra by Claude Debussy, approximately 10 minutes in duration. It was composed in the year 1894, the same year that the piece was first performed. It was first performed in Paris on 22 December 1894, conducted by Gustave Doret. The flute solo was played by Georges Barrère.

The Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54 was completed in the year 1845 and is the only piano concerto written by the German Romantic composer Robert Schumann. The work was premiered in Dresden on December 4, 1845. Schumann had earlier worked on several piano concerti: he began one in E-flat major in 1828, from 1829–31 he worked on one in F major, and in 1839, he wrote one movement of a concerto in D minor. None of these works were completed.
