Over-Nite Sensation is a studio album by Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention, released in September 1973. It was followed by Zappa's solo album Apostrophe (') (1974), which was recorded during the same sessions. Frank Zappa wanted to use backup singers on the songs "I'm the Slime", "Dirty Love", "Zomby Woof", "Dinah-Moe Humm" and "Montana".

This is the other complete classic and crowd fave Zappa and Mothers (second incarnation) 70's album along with Sheik Yerbouti, outside the Hot Rats series especially in those years. Indeed, Overnight Sensation is maybe the Zappa album that got the most radio airplay and almost every song is a classic known by a wide public.
Over-Nite Sensation is a studio album by Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention. Released on September 7, 1973, it was followed by Zappa's solo album Apostrophe (') (1974), which was recorded during the same sessions.
With Over-nite Sensation, it features obscene lyrics and is bizzare, but for a different reason than usual. s discography while keeping the raunchy and quirky lyrics ever present while criticizing the culture of the then-present day. And with the backing vocals of Tina Turner and the Ikettes, and the support of the late Ricky Lancelotti on vocals for Fifty -Fifty and Zomby Woof. Lancelotti would have a falling out with Zappa not long after the recording of this album and after an incident where Lancelotti showed up to rehearsals intoxicated, Lancelotti would refuse to go on tour, accusing Zappa of using him only to learn how to sing. Lancelotti would die from injuries sustained in a car accident in 1980.
