Deke Dickerson (born June 3, 1968) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and film composer. Dickerson was born in St. Louis, Missouri. After playing in several local rockabilly bands, Deke formed The Untamed Youth at age 17 in his hometown of Columbia, Missouri. In 1991 he moved to Los Angeles and joined Dave Stuckey to form the Dave & Deke Combo, a partnership that yielded two albums and a 2005 reunion at major rockabilly festivals

Greatest Hits Volume 1 is the title of the first greatest hits album released by the American country music group Rascal Flatts, released on October 28, 2008 by Lyric Street Records. The album includes thirteen of the groups' biggest hits from their first four studio albums as well as three newly recorded Christmas songs for a limited time. The album was reissued on October 6, 2009, with four new live bonus tracks, an audio interview with the band, and a foldout poster.

Don't call it a 'pop' album, because Deke covers the same wide berth of roots and Americana music that he always does, from rockabilly to country to rock & roll and doo-wop with a few ballads and surf instrumentals thrown in for good measure! The band on this record is killer, with Chris Sprague on drums and Jimmy Sutton on bass, with a guest appearance by Carl 'Sonny' Leyland on piano.

Of course, part of the gimmick is that los Straitjackets have partnered with a guy best known as a master guitarist to do the vocals on Sings the Great Instrumental Hits, but Dickerson is a solid and capable singer, and he has enough of a sense of humor to know how to play the (usually unintentional) silliness of these verses, and his con. brio approach to "Fury," "Magic Star" (better known as "Telstar"), "Perfidia," and "Kawanga" is fitting and happily shameless. Ultimately, los Straitjackets are at their best without a singer, but in spite of this, Sings the Great Instrumental Hits works because the band is at the top of its game here, and Dickerson is an entertainer who knows what to do with this concept. But how come they didn't use NRBQ's much-superior lyrics for "Wild Weekend"?) ~

Хипхопера: Орфей & Эвридика. Вряд ли боги соблаговолят нам (Орфей и Эвридика).
