Witches Abroad is the twelfth Discworld novel by Terry Pratchett, originally published in 1991. It is the third witches story. It features Granny Weatherwax (introduced in Equal Rites), and her two associate witches, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlick (introduced in Wyrd Sisters). They visit Genua, on the other side of the continent, where they confront Granny's sister, Lily Weatherwax, who is manipulating people using the power of stories. Following the death of the witch Desiderata Hollow, Magrat Garlick is sent her magic wand, for Desiderata was not only a witch, but also a fairy godmother. Having given the wand to Magrat, she effectively makes Magrat the new fairy godmother to a young woman called Emberella, who lives across the Disc in Genua.

They all take place in the same world, and all the characters pop up and make cameos in each other's stories, but it doesn't really matter. One would think being at would be an accomplishment, and one would n Witches Abroad is the 12th Discworld novel by Sir Terry Pratchett  . Three witches have to prevent the princess from marrying the prince, and defeat the fairy-godmother, preventing stories from taking over the world - and they're the good guys.

We remember Terry Pratchett with some of the best, most memorable quotes from his beloved Discworld series. Because while 66 years is far too short a time to be alive, he managed to pass on more wisdom than most people who live to 100 get the chance to do. And for that, we are grateful. Sir Terry, here are a few of the invaluable life lessons that your books have taught us: On life and death. Is it heroic to die like this? said Conina. I think it is, he said, and when it comes to dying, there’s only one opinion that matters.
