Pierre Cochereau was born on the 9th of July, 1924 in Saint-Mandé, near Paris. In 1929, after a few months of violin instruction, Pierre Cochereau began to take piano lessons with Marius-François Gaillard. Marguerite Long became his piano teacher in 1933, and three years later, Paul Pannesay.

Pierre Eugène Charles Cochereau (July 9, 1924 – March 6, 1984), was a French organist, improviser, composer, and pedagogue. Pierre Cochereau was born on July 9, 1924, in Saint-Mandé, near Paris. In 1929, after a few months of violin instruction, he began to take piano lessons with Marius-François Gaillard. In 1938, Cochereau was introduced to the pipe organ by Marie-Louise Girod, a student of Marcel Dupré

François Couperin (French: ; 10 November 1668 – 11 September 1733) was a French Baroque composer, organist and harpsichordist. He was known as Couperin le Grand ("Couperin the Great") to distinguish him from other members of the musically talented Couperin family. Couperin was born into one of the best known musical families of Europe.

In quiet passages, the organ sounds like it is being played in the next arrondissement. Lombard's effort is the result of earnest, patient, plain old hard work, and his recording engineer has let him down here. As a shot fired in the battle of regaining Cochereau's music for the hands of the living, Motette's Rekonstruierte Improvisationen will provide interest for those who are following such developments closely, but it is not an entry that stands to win the war.

Les Barricades Mystérieuses (The Mysterious Barricades) is a piece of music that François Couperin composed for harpsichord in 1717. It is the fifth piece in his "Ordre 6ème de clavecin" in B-flat major, from his second book of collected harpsichord pieces (Pièces de Clavecin). This piece is super suitable for background music.
