Buddy Fite - Tasty download mp3 album
Unfortunately, there are no personnel listings, which is a real shame as Fite obviously collaborated with a number of rhythm sections, horn, string and keyboard combinations, and all of their contributions are equally tasty and supportive.

Any Buddy Fite fans? From Portland OR and a monster on standard or steel. Buddy Fite was an incredible guitar player. I lived on the West Coast during the period when he was actively playing in clubs. You had to see Buddy live to appreciate him. The stuff you can find on recordings, to me, doesn't even sound like Buddy Fite. It's worse than judging Wes Montgomery as a jazz guitarist by just finding a copy of the Tequila album (where's the jazz?). Fite ended up sort of giving up on the music scene-jazz was so unprofitable that you couldn't support yourself or a family in the 70s and 80s playing jazz guitar

Buddy Fite is one of those legendary players that most jazz guitar players have heard of, but never actually heard. For a number of reasons, some of which he discusses in an interesting interview, Buddy never garnered the fame that his talent deserves. All his records are out-of-print. It's a wonderful collection of solos, written specifically for the book. Most of you probably will not be interested in the book (guitarists be warned: this is not for beginners), but the CD stands alone. Very few jazz guitarists have pulled off solo albums: Kessel, Raney, Affif, Eschete etc have tried
