Thematically yelworC were inspired by the occult scene and particularly by Aleister Crowley’s anti-Christ subjects. Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), magician, philosopher, adventurer and burgher’s scare had an influence on yelworC’s experimental forms of expression in musical as well as formal regards (photo, video, graphics). Continuing the dark electronic style, yelworC confirmed with this production their status of a forerunner. The album thematically circulated around the uncovering of social paradoxes.
With the new album Icolation, yelworC continues the themes explored in his last album, Trinity. Drawing influence from Dante's Inferno, Icolation takes the listener on a journey of the damned, from darkest hell straight to an apocalyptic purgatory. The music is as hard, twisted and complex as before - a synthesis of strong, vital rhythms and darkest melodic compositions.
The album, containing some material composed during the late 1990s, is based on Dante ' s journey through Hell as told in " The Divine Comedy ". It also features a guest appearance by Dennis Ostermann of In Strict Confidence on the song " Vexilla Regis Inferni ". Out via Minuswelt on October 19th is yelworC ' s " Icolation ". The 17 - track release comes after the July 2007 release of the " Eclosion " EP .
