A soundtrack album is any album that incorporates music directly recorded from the soundtrack of a particular feature film or television show. The first such album to be commercially released was Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the soundtrack to the film of the same name, in 1938. The first soundtrack album of a film's orchestral score was that for Alexander Korda's 1942 film Jungle Book, composed by Miklós Rózsa.

Description: Bono chose to collaborate with a woefully underappreciated Gavin Friday for the soundtrack to this Neil Jordan film, with stunning results. The title track and "Billy Boola" predate the electronic movement in the states by a few years, but manages to sound vital and contemporary by any standards. Herein are the seeds of what U2 would try to reap on their Pop album. The other important original work is Sinead O'Connor's "You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart," written by Bono and Friday

Clerks: Music from the Motion Picture is the 1994 soundtrack album to the film of the same name. The soundtrack features alternative rock songs performed by various artists, as well as audio clips from the film. Famously, the cost of licensing the songs on the soundtrack cost more than the film cost to make. On November 15th, 2012, Kevin Smith found the original copy of the tape in his house. The tape was dubbed over an instructional 4 track cassette.
