To celebrate this great anniversary, Johnny Jewel – the man responsible for the show’s ubiquitous Windswept theme, as well as for some of the most beautiful Roadhouse jams with Chromatics – released a new album: Themes For Television. It’s a 21-track, mostly instrumental album, made from about six hours of music that Jewel originally composed for David Lynch’s TV comeback. That kind of music that mixes dreams and nightmares. Afterall, we’re talking about Twin Peaks. It can’t be otherwise. Here, you can listen to Themes For Television. And here, you can watch the video made for Red Door.

Read any write-up of Johnny Jewel’s music - whether it's his solo work, material from his role as the main brain behind Chromatics, or as a member of several side projects on his Italians Do It Better label - and odds are that you’ll see the word cinematic somewhere. There’s a reason that’s such a popular description, though: Jewel specializes in sleek-sounding, neon-streaked songs that are spiked with tension while feeling deeply romantic. Jewel has made the cinema comparison even easier in recent years, seeing that his work has actually played on screens big and small.

Johnny Jewel (born John David Padgett) is an American t, record producer, composer, and visual artist. Jewel owns and operates his own record label, Italians Do It Better. In collaboration with David Lynch, Jewel composed several hours of original music for the Twin Peaks limited series, although little of it was ultimately used. Several songs from his solo album Windswept (2017) appeared in the series, including "Windswept" and "The Flame.

Italians Do It Better artist Johnny Jewel has released a lengthy album called Symmetry - Themes for an Imaginary Film. According to a press release, Jewel started working on Symmetry back in 2008 and finished it in May of this year. In terms of style, the album is very much in keeping with Italians Do It Better's trademark sound: dark and cinematic with a bit of campy flair
