Tall Stories is the second studio album by Johnny Hates Jazz, released by Virgin in 1991. The follow-up to 1988's Turn Back the Clock, Tall Stories features producer and songwriter Phil Thornalley as lead singer, following the departure of the band's frontman Clark Datchler. On the eve of the album's release, Thornalley and keyboardist Calvin Hayes were involved in a serious car crash that depleted the band's momentum. Once they recovered, the album was a commercial flop, and the band called it quits.
Great Grandad has only one ‘good’ eye, always wears a hat, smokes cigars and has a laugh so loud that it can be heard echoing across the mountains. In the Norwegian fells, Great Grandad recounts amazing tales about his childhood friend ‘Fatso’ to his – often impatient – great grandchild – and Theodor listens, goes off exploring and invents imaginative games to play in the Norwegian countryside, the home of the grazing moose and growling bear. Theodor’s games are inspired by Great Grandad’s tall tales, for up in the mountains there are no iPads, TV nor children to play with.
Adam Rainer was less than 5 feet tall until he was 21 years old. Ten years later, he was over 7 feet tall, becoming the only person in history to be both a dwarf and a giant. It’s unclear if Adam Rainer, whose height was less than 5 feet when he was 21 years, ever wished that he’d grow taller. But if he did, his story would be the anecdotal epitome of the expression be careful what you wish for. Not much is known about the life Adam Rainer led in regards to personal details, as it was his curious and unprecedented medical condition that dominated what’s known about it. Born in Graz, Austria in 1899, Rainer was born to parents who were both of average height. When World War I broke out, he enlisted in the army.
A Chinese Tall Story (Chinese: 情癲大聖; Cantonese Yale: Ching din dai sing) is a 2005 Hong Kong fantasy adventure film written and directed by Jeffrey Lau. The story is loosely based on the novel Journey to the West. It is a twisted story about the monk Tripitaka and his three disciples who are journeying west to acquire Buddhist scriptures
twice as tall as a Brachiosaurus; taller than the height of Buckingham Palace or the White House. Clearly, and without wishing to sin against BNBR, this is bonkers. Allaah created Adam and he was sixty cubits tall. Then He said, ‘Go and greet those angels and listen to how they greet you, for that will be your greeting and the greeting of your progeny. He said, ‘Al-salaamu ‘alaykum (Peace be upon you).
