Alan Hull was a brilliantly talented songwriter best known for his work with Lindisfarne but also as a solo artist. The song Numbers (Travelling Band) was included on his solo album Pipedream and also released as a single. The song is Alan's wry take on life on the road and the music business. Alan died in 1995 but he and his many great songs will be remembered by fans and music lovers.
Lyrics to 'Numbers (Travelling Band)' by Alan Hull. Playing dominos on the big coach, sometimes winning or losing, Playing darts in the bar room, in between the boozing. Back on the big coach in the morning, head full of pain Sleepy eyes still yawning, yes we're back on the road again Sometimes make me wonder what we'll be like at the end It's seven for the travelling band, eight for doing it all again Nine for the travelling band, ten for doing it all again.
