Apple Records was officially founded in 1968 as another sub-division of The Beatles’ own Apple Corps, which was established as a small group of companies (Apple Retail, Apple Publishing, Apple Electronics and so on). When The Beatles started to release their LPs on the Apple label, they were still under contract with Parlophone and the LPs were included in the ordinary Parlophone record number series. Manufactured in the UK by EMI Records Limited. This label text coincides with a rimtext change in the Parlophone label which occurred in 1984 so we can pretty confidently assume the same change was forced upon Apple at the same time. Some copies of the covers without number on the front. Album contained four color portraits of the band and collage poster. The records were housed in Apple company inner sleeves. Record 1 has a dark green labels with An . Recording text on one line.

Pianist Leonard "Baby Doo" Caston and guitarist Bernardo Dennis (replaced after a year by Ollie Crawford) joined upright bassist Dixon to form the popular trio in 1946. Caston was just out of the service (where he'd played on . tours during World War II); Dixon had been a conscientious objector. Dixon had previously worked with Caston in the Five Breezes and with Dennis in the Four Jumps of Jive.
Our goal was to stop performers from going there, and to this day no major artists of any integrity have played Sun City. Van Zandt, a former member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, was sitting in a Los Angeles movie theater waiting for a film to start when he got the original inspiration for the project. But this New Yorker with the polished tenor had been in the music business since the early Seventies. He wrote a song for The Wiz; sang on, co-wrote and arranged David Bowie's "Young Americans" in 1975; toured as a background singer with Bette Midler, Chaka Khan and Carly Simon; recorded albums as a member of three bands; and did sessions with Barbra Streisand, Quincy Jones and others.
