It's Too Late to Stop Now is a 1974 live double album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It features performances that were recorded in concerts at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, California; the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, and the Rainbow in London, during Morrison's three-month tour with his eleven-piece band, the Caledonia Soul Orchestra, from May to July 1973.

Drawn from a fabled string of shows, Van Morrison’s 197. t’s Too Late To Stop No. named for the shout that caps the outrageously teased-out ending of Cypress Avenue, his usual set closer) is rightly considered among the best live LPs ever. This companion culls from three of the 1973 shows that informed that album, with no overlap. The setlist is broader; repeat selections come from different shows, and given the band’s jazzy elasticity, they feel fresh

1974, 'It's Too Late' found Morrison working with a massive band he'd dubbed 'The Caledonia Soul Orchestra,' featuring strings, brass and woodwinds in addition to the standard keyboards, guitar and bass. With so many moving parts, the potential for disaster was always high, but these performances - captured during the Los Angeles and London stops on Morrison's Summer 1973 tour - were the work of a band that benefited from not only having a legendary taskmaster at the forefront, but a long period of time in the trenches bonding the players. Unlike a lot of live albums, 'It's Too Late to Stop Now' eschewed heavy post-production; although it was co-produced by Ted Templeman and went through the same mixing and mastering as any other major release, it's devoid of the in-studio overdubbing that's often used to bolster (or outright rescue) live recordings.

Of course, it is possible to have too much of a good thing, but perhaps not when it comes to material from Van Morrison’s legendary live performances which went to make up 1974’s It’s Too Late To Stop Now. This remixed, expanded (3 x CD plus 1 x DVD) set does, unsurprisingly, overlap (in terms of material, but not recordings) from the original release but there is a good deal of 'new stuff’ here to admire.

Joy Division (Factory, 1980)Peter Saville: This cover for the band’s second album was like a work of antiquity, but inside is a vinyl album, so it’s a postmodern juxtaposition of a contemporary work housed in the antique. At first, I didn’t believe the photo was an actual tomb but it’s really in a cemetery in Genoa. In the end, it was too obvious and I gave up for the day and bought some postcards from the shop. I was with my girlfriend at the time, who saw me holding a postcard of the Fantin-Latour painting of flowers and said, ‘You are not thinking of that for the cover?’ It was a wonderful idea.

Too Late Now. Icehouse. Album Measure for Measure. Just give me the sign and I'll be walking out that door Don't want to remember this the way it was before As the rain falls on the ocean and the desert feels the sign We let it die here, let it slip right through our hands too late to love, too late to cry So don't look back. to start again, to wonder wh. .too late now. Just give me the word, though it may be so hard to sing Just give me a reason why it had to end this way Steady holding.
