Disinterest is the first album by British indie band The Servants. The record was released in 1990 on Paperhouse Records. Luke Haines describes Disinterest as "art rock, ten years too late and fifteen years too early". Tim Peacock at Record Collector magazine said of Disinterest in 2013 that: "while it's recently been dusted down for critical reappraisal, it remains out of print. Angular and bittersweet.

Disinterest was the 1990 debut album by English indie band The Servants. The band featured singer-songwriter David Westlake and Luke Haines. Disinterest is arty, experimental and notable for Westlake’s fabulously mordant lyrics. Disinterest’s inclusion in Mojo magazine’s 2011 list of the greatest British indie records of all time led to the 2012 release of the Servants’ second album, Small Time, Hey Hey We’re The Manqués. Album and band would prove to be a huge influence on Belle and Sebastian songwriter Stuart Murdoch.

The Servants were an indie band formed in 1985 in Hayes, Middlesex, England by singer-songwriter David Westlake. The band was the original home of Luke Haines. The band's Small Time album was well received on its 2012 release, more than twenty years after its 1991-recording. The belated release followed the inclusion of 1990's Disinterest in Mojo magazine's 2011 list of the greatest British indie records of all time.

Disinterest is the first album by British indie band The Servants. The Servants' second album, Small Time, was recorded in 1991 but had to wait twenty-one years for its 2012 release on Cherry Red Records.

It's the Servants' second and best album. It's a strange and wonderful thing, and we're lucky that it is now in the world. Alice has decided to do an art history degree, so isn't around to play on the new demos. Andy Bennett, the drummer on "Disinterest", mutters something about 'going off to bake bread', and that is the last we see of him. So the Servants becomes a duo of David Westlake and myself. And a sack of great new Westlake songs. The new songs come fast, and have swooped away from the "Disinterest" blueprint. like nothing else really. Our work routine goes like this.

Servants - - Disinterest. Servants - Disinterest/07 - Hush No. lac - 3. 9. Servants - Disinterest/09 - Hey Mrs John. Servants - Disinterest/08 - They Should Make a Statue. Servants - Disinterest/06 - Self Destruction. Servants - Disinterest/03 - Restless. Mojo magazine included Disinterest in its December 2011 list of the greatest British indie records of all time.
