Mountains" is a 1986 song by Prince and The Revolution, from the album Parade, the soundtrack to the film Under the Cherry Moon. It was written by The Revolution members Wendy & Lisa together with Prince. The extended 12" single version of the song runs nearly ten minutes. It reached number 23 in the US but only 45 in the UK. The B-side was the instrumental "Alexa de Paris", one of the few tracks from this project featuring a guitar solo

Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Prince And The Revolution. It takes off in several directions, but never strays out of bounds. Mountains" always put me in a real good mood (-the 12"-version is incredible, by the way) but all tracks earns their rightful place here! I got to love them all, and I stand by my words.

Prince & the Revolution shift musical moods and textures from song to song - witness how the fluttering psychedelia of "Christopher Tracy's Parade" gives way to the spare, jazzy funk of "New Position," which morphs into the druggy "I Wonder U" - and they're determined not to play it safe, even on the hard funk of "Girls and Boys" and. "Mountains," as well as the stunning "Kiss," which hits hard with just a dry guitar, keyboard, drum machine, and layered vocals.

One of his finest tracks from the Parade period. It's sad to see that only a few days ago this was going for less than £10 and since Prince's death the money-grabbers are cashing in on prices with the cheapest one rockin' in at £50.

? but that version is... also Extended and also at 4:54 - is there really a difference? And, as far as I can remember, this white 10" has always fetched quite high prices. Not that I've been lookoing evry week, but seldomly as low as £10 - more like £20 - 40.

I agree with everything you say Hauntology. Not only is this one of his very best tracks but the instrumental B side "Alexa De Paris" is another favourite of mine. There was a much extended version of Alexa on the "Let it go" CD released in 1994, which is well worth getting.
