The Beatles & John Lennon - Rock'N'Roll download mp3 album

Rock 'n' Roll is the sixth studio album by John Lennon. Released in 1975, it is an album of late 1950s and early 1960s songs as covered by Lennon. Recording the album was problematic and spanned an entire year: Phil Spector produced sessions in October 1973 at A&M Studios, and Lennon produced sessions in October 1974 at Record Plant Studios (East).
The final studio album released by John Lennon before his five-year retirement into househusbandry, Rock 'N' Roll was a collection of cover versions of 1950s and early 1960s songs recorded during the legendary Lost Weekend. A parallel can be drawn between Rock 'N' Roll and The Beatles' Get Back project, which was eventually released as Let It Be. Both were an attempt to revert back to basics; both became mired in recriminations and disillusionment; and both had their releases delayed, with another studio album issued in the meantime. The Rock 'N' Roll album was recorded in two distinct stages. The first took place in October to December 1973 in Los Angeles with Phil Spector producing, and the second in New York in October 1974, produced by John Lennon

John Lennon released 'Rock 'N' Roll' in February 1975. Listen to John Lennon Perform 'Stand By Me'. That album was released first, in October 1974, and climbed to No. 1, Lennon's second showing there as a solo artist. Imagine topped the charts in 1971. With Levy still on his tail about making good on the borrowed Berry line and the Spector tapes recovered by someone from Lennon's record company, Lennon immediately started work again on Rock 'N' Roll – this time in New York, with his Walls and Bridges band and producing himself.
On Rock ‘n’ Roll, John Lennon does nothing but interpret old rock. The Beatles didn’t care whether they got the music right so long as they got the feeling. Lennon can recreate the music correctly ( Be-Bop-A-Lula ), but never catches the feeling. In making an album about his past, he has wound up sounding like a man without a past. If I didn’t know better, I would have guessed that this was the work of just another talented rocker who’s stumbled onto a mysterious body of great American music that he truly loves but doesn’t really understand. There was a time when he did. In This Article: John Lennon.
