He was numbed by survivor’s fatigue. The country had all the symptoms of collapse, but the lights were on, international flights were landing, and stores were open as bombs went off. We live better? It is widely known there have been changes in our quality life. But sometimes people can ask if these changes are enough relevant to consider it we live better today than many years ago. First of all. the health system has improved respect to the past. Admittedly, a person can be better than someone else at one particular task, but that doesn't qualify them as superior. Attempting to gauge how we are doing in comparison to someone else will never lead to an accurate evaluation because no two people are ever exactly alike. We come from different backgrounds. Recognize that every day we are the result of every past decision we have made up to that point. And tomorrow we are going to be the direct result of the decisions we are making today. A Better Tomorrow took a while and it sounds labored: where overbearing arrangements don’t get in the way, a cloying sentimentality does. Tense negotiations and a reconciliation followed, but A Better Tomorrow arrives this week illuminating the early apprehensions. The production here is more of a piece with the muscular soundtrack work of RZA’s 2012 directorial debut The Man With the Iron Fists than anything bearing the Wu-Tang name, barring the heavily orchestrated bits of 2007’s 8 Diagrams that inspired Raekwon’s last mutiny attempt. But A Better Tomorrow ’s thick and moody soundscapes run off-puttingly perpendicular to the group’s cerebral storytelling.
