Go! is a studio album by jazz musician Dexter Gordon featuring Sonny Clark, Butch Warren and Billy Higgins, recorded on August 27, 1962 and released in the same year on Blue Note. According to the liner notes by Ira Gitler, this session was "not recorded in a nightclub performance but, in its informal symmetry, it matches the relaxed atmosphere that the best of those made in that manner engender. Everyone was really together, in all the most positive meanings of that word

One of the outstanding tenor saxophonists in jazz history, and a major figure in bop known for his heavy doses of swing.

Dexter Gordon (February 27, 1923 – April 25, 1990) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist. He was one of the first players of the instrument in the bebop idiom of musicians such as Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and Bud Powell. Gordon's height was 6 feet 6 inches (198 cm), so he was also known as "Long Tall Dexter" and "Sophisticated Giant". His studio and performance career spanned over 40 years.

Dexter Gordon was one of the top ballad players of the '60s. Having already made his name in the bebop era and as an expatriate in Europe, Gordon returned to the States to record a series of fine Blue Note discs during the first half of the decade. Gordon delivers his almost sleepy and smoke-filled solos with real grace. This album is soulful blues, late night kinda jazz. It is one of the albums I always recommend to people, right along with Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" and "Round About Midnight". Dexter Gordon is one of those jazz players that moved to Paris and for years lived as an ex-pat, committing his life to his music. You hear that commitment in his playing, it is some of the best soulful blues.
