The 2014 album 'Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles' was Suzanne's first appearance within the UK top 40 for over twenty years. The songwriter has continued to consistently release albums and tour her material over this time and the lack of chart success has never seemed to alter or affect her songwriting or musical style. I’ve been a fan of Suzanne Vega, an alternative rock musician, since I first heard her song "Luka," a song about an abused child which was really quite touching

The discography of American singer Suzanne Vega consists of nine studio albums of original material, four acoustic albums plus one acoustic box-set, two compilation albums, and four live albums. Suzanne Vega has a gift for penning intimate songs, but the theatrical venue for her Dubai Opera performance on Thursday is apt because the 58-year-old New Yorker makes her regional concert debut on the back of her latest album, Lover, Beloved: Songs from an Evening with Carson McCullers. The album is a career retrospective in a way, but not of Vega’s work: it’s a tribute to one of her heroes

Her literate, artful, and intellectual brand of troubadourism rescued the singer/songwriter tradition from the clutches of sentimentality.
