Touchwood Records contacted Frankie Laine after he received the Lifetime Achievement Award and has since repackaged his 1992 "Memories in Gold" album which features contemporary remakes of most of his gold-selling recordings. They called the album "Portrait of a Legend. Reader's Digest released in May 1997 a 3-CD-boxed set of his music. Laine said at the time, "It looks like it will be a pretty big thing.

Frankie Laine (born Francesco Paolo LoVecchio; March 30, 1913 – February 6, 2007) was an American singer, songwriter, and actor whose career nearly spanned 75 years, from his first concerts in 1930 with a marathon dance company to his final performance of "That's My Desire" in 2005. Often billed as "America's Number One Song Stylist", his other nicknames include "Mr. Rhythm", "Old Leather Lungs", and "Mr. Steel Tonsils".
