The Definitive Collection is a 2001 compilation album of all the singles released by Swedish pop group ABBA.

The Album is the fifth studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA. The album was released in conjunction with ABBA: The Movie, with several of the songs featured in the film. Altogether the album contained nine songs.

ABBA, Agnetha, Björn, Benny & Anni-Frid were the epitome of 1970's kitsch-y pop. They created timeless pop songs like "Take a Chance on Me," "Knowing Me, Knowing You," "Money, Money, Money," and of course "Dancing Queen. By this time however, ABBA was not the same band anymore. The two couples within the band Agnetha Fältskog & Björn Ulvaeus and Frida Lyngstad & Benny Andersson, had by now broken up. While the breakup of a relationship is never a happy affair, it would lead them to create some of their best music. By the time this album was released,.

ABBA: The Definitive Collection (2002). Video 168 min Music. The band members of ABBA must travel through space and time to bring back the funk. I have been an ABBA fan since I lived near them på Lidingö in the late 70's and early 80's. But I have always wondered why they were never the huge hit here in the USA as they were in the rest of the world. Perhaps it has been critical dismissal as mere "Scandinavian pop rock". Despite this, ABBA continues to sell well, even 20 years after they last performed together. Indeed, there is now a revival of their popularity: a Broadway play, movie soundtracks, more exposure on radio play-lists. There is much more to this group than the critics' had seen, as this DVD shows.

The Definitive Collection.

None of the many versions- disco, nursery rhyme, strings-attached- are as good as the final release. Those songs are both included on the reissue as bonus tracks- indeed The Visitors' set of bonus material is uniformly terrific, turning a fine album into a great one. "Cassandra", like "The Visitors", is a cryptic sketch of unspecified political disaster, given devastating dignity by Frida's measured vocals.

ABBA The Movie has been added to your Cart. A product of a more innocent time, by a band that was far more innocent than most even then. Not a trace of cynicism or anger in this film, just a relaxing, highly enveloping experience that is a breeze to watch over and over again. Make no mistake, these were seriously talented and sophisticated musicians and songwriters. It becomes shockingly more apparent as time goes on just how GOOD this music was, feel free to compare it to any music, ever.
