You may hear Joan Sutherland as Donna Anna in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera Don Giovanni with Carlo Maria Giulini conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra in 1961 Here on archive. On my personal color scale, which runs from a voluptuous red (Tebaldi) or blood-orange (Leontyne Price) or purple (Caballé) or red-purple (Troyanos) to white-hot (Rysanek) or runny yellow-green (Sills), Sutherland is among the "blue" sopranos – which has nothing to do with "blues" in the pop sense of the term. Semiramide-Joan Sutherland (Semiramide), John Serge (Idreno), Joseph Rouleau (Assur), Spiro Malas (Oroe), Patricia Clark (Azema), Leslie Fyson (Mitrane), Michael Langdon (Spectre of Nino), Marilyn Horne (Arsace), London Symphony Orchestra, Richard Bonynge. Puccini immediately liked the Lake and the small village, whose houses were mirrored in the blue-grey waters of lake Massacciuccoli, less than two kilometres away from the sandy beaches of Versilia and where the inhabitants welcomed him enthusiastically. Puccini composed in Torre del Lago his main operas, among which Tosca (1900), Madama Butterfly (1904), La Fanciulla del West (1910), La Rondine (1917) and Il Trittico (1918). The Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago is the only Festival in the world fully dedicated to the composer Giacomo Puccini
