The Fureys release their first album without Davey, Winds Of Change. 1994: The group releases their last album (to date) with Finbar, Claddagh Road. The group releases The Fureys Sing Chaplin, an album of songs written by Charlie Chaplin. This is the only album to feature Paul Furey singing lead vocals, on the song "Weeping Willows".
The Fureys are an Irish male folk band originally formed in 1974. The group consisted initially of four brothers who grew up in Ballyfermot, Dublin. Eddie, Finbar, Paul and George Furey are of Irish Traveller heritage. Two of the band's singles have been number one hits in Ireland, and two of their albums charted in the United Kingdom.
The Fureys were brothers Eddie, Finbar, Paul and George Furey. They recorded with their friend Davey Arthur as The Fureys & Davey Arthur. After Davey left, they continued as The Fureys (or sometimes The Furey Brothers). Finbar left the band to launch a solo career in 1996. Davey has returned to the band on and off over the years.
