Thee Oh Sees - An Odd Entrances download mp3 album
A Weird Exits is the seventeenth studio album by American garage rock band Thee Oh Sees, released on August 12, 2016, on Castle Face Records. It is the first studio album to feature drummers Ryan Moutinho and Dan Rincon, who joined the band in 2015 to tour in support of the band's previous album, Mutilator Defeated at Last. A Weird Exits was the first of two studio albums released by Thee Oh Sees in 2016, with a companion album, entitled An Odd Entrances, released on November 18, 2016.
An Odd Entrances arrived fast, even by Thee Oh Sees standards. The band has reached the point where their prolificacy has become a kind of performance art, an experiment in how much worthwhile product one group can deliver without releasing an outright dud. Though it’s not a force of nature like the other LPs Thee Oh Sees have produced since returning from their farcically brief 2013 hiatus, Odd Entrances more than keeps their streak alive.
Just the plain old black vinyl for me on this one but what a record! I love all Oh Sees' recent material but this is probably my favourite as it veers toward the kind of trippy, blissed out psychedelia at which they really excel. You really have to give some kudos to John Dwyer and co for producing such an excellent quality vinyl package on these 45 rpm releases. Not sure what the source is and how they are cut but they sound superb on my system
An Odd Entrances is the eighteenth studio album by the American garage rock band Thee Oh Sees, released on 18 November 2016 by Castle Face Records The album is the band's last with the drummer Ryan Moutinho, who left the band two days before its release, and is also their last album released under the name Thee Oh Sees. Studio album by. Thee Oh Sees.
Thee Oh Sees still slosh through guitar-focused work - Unwrap the Fiend Pt. 1 features some of their catchiest riffs since 2013’s Floating Coffin - that encourage beer chugging, but it’s less raucous. When Dwyer’s guitar climbs up and down a scale, it’s done gracefully, not with knives pointed outwards. If the low-light burn of Mutilator Defeated At Last’s Sticky Hulks roped in potheads, then An Odd Entrances targets LSD users - and the transition to a groovier songwriting style is done subtly . An Odd Entrances shows the band knows how to do so with the fragmented release of a two-part album, too. Essential Tracks: At The End, On The Stairs, Unwrap the Fiend Pt. 1, and The Poem.
Album · 2016 · 6 Songs. A sequel of sorts to the 2016 album A Weird Exits, An Odd Entrances furthers the process of unspooling Thee Oh Sees’ frenetic, tightly wound garage rock into a psychedelic sprawl. The opening fanfare You Will Find It Here begins with cosmic free-jazz skitters before blossoming into a droning guitar jam speckled with ‘60s-vintage organ sounds; Jammed Exit is a foray into tropical dub. But most mesmerizing of all is The Poem, an acid-pop serenade that floats in a celestial fog. An Odd Entrances Thee Oh Sees.
