The Seer is the twelfth studio album by American experimental rock band Swans and was released on August 28, 2012 by Gira's own record label Young God Records. Producer and frontman Michael Gira funded the recording of the album with the sales of We Rose from Your Bed with the Sun in Our Head.
Retrospective, Vol. 2 (1981-1987) picks up where Retrospective, Vol. 1 left off, the time period when Rush became an arena rock sensation with each of their albums reaching the Top Ten. The set begins with several selections from their most popular album, 1981's Moving Pictures, and ends with 1987's Hold Your Fire

The Seer DVD was recorded variously in the cities of Melbourne, Australia, Berlin, Germany, Brooklyn, NY, San Francisco, C. LA, C. and Torrance, California. The footage was filmed throughout the Swans tour(s) of 2010/2011. The film is a work in progress, and will ultimately result in a feature film, filmography of Swans. Rights Society: MCPS.

Synopsis: Abi, salah seorang anak indigo Indonesia yang dilemparkan ke masa depan, sampai ke negeri Yenom yang dipimpin oleh robot besar bernama Big B-055. Krisis menyelimuti seluruh negeri Yenom. Pertemuan langsung antara Abi dan Tio menciptakan konfrontasi di antara mereka berdua. Sementara itu, kelompok ‘Partai Pengemis’ dihadapkan pada bencana besar akibat terungkapnya identitas Tio. Sebagian kecil misteri ‘Anak Dewa’ mulai terkuak bersamaan dengan terungkapnya masa.
