Roger Waters' 1987 rock opera Radio . tells the story of Billy, a paraplegic with the ability to listen to radio waves. An epic piece set in the context of Reagan’s America, Thatcher’s Britain and the atmosphere of the late Cold War, Radio . captures both the political and cultural cracks of the world, in a time where the world run amok and everybody feared the bomb.

Roger Waters' Radio: . released as the former Pink Floyd mastermind's second solo album on June 15, 1987, doesn't boast the simplest story for a concept album. Waters uses eight songs to tell the story of a pair of Welsh brothers – Benny, a coal miner/ham radio enthusiast, and Billy, who is highly intelligent but seriously disabled – who are separated after Benny is arrested for a crime he didn't commit and Billy is sent to live with his uncle in Los Angeles.
